Tom with one of his vases

Tom and Lennard met each other in the time that Turning Earth was setting up in London in 2013.
Tom is very familiar with the shared studio model that we are building up at Studio PANSA right now. He is specially flying over to Amsterdam to teach this intensive one day workshop!
We are really happy to be able to welcome him at Studio PANSA.

Tom has spent the past six years mastering the art of throwing large porcelain forms, and his exquisite work has attracted the attention of galleries, collectors and ceramics enthusiast world wide. With 156,000 dedicated followers on Instagram, it’s really no surprise that Tom has become one of the shining stars of contemporary ceramics.

In this workshop, Tom will be focusing on increasing your throwing capacity and technique, in order to control and shape larger pieces. By the end of the class, we aim for every student to have built upon their existing knowledge and improve their skills, in the hopes that they will feel much more confident when they come to tackle a large piece of clay.

Please note that students should not expect to take work home at the end of the class. The aim of this masterclass is not to create a finished piece, but for students to come away with skills that they can continue to use and develop in their own practice.

The class is open to those with some previous experience and advanced throwers who wish to learn new techniques. There are 8 spaces available.

The price includes all clay and materials. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits available throughout the day. And a small lunch.

Please bring an apron. If you are a big eater, please bring some extra packed lunch.
