Handbuilding for intermediates

This handbuilding workshop is a perfect continuation on the ‘handbuilding for beginners course’. If you already have sufficient handbuilding experience, this course can be a beautiful opportunity for you to explore more techniques and approaches under the guidance of a teacher.

In this class you will continue on your hand building knowledge. You will get a refresher of the basic techniques and start with more complex shapes. For example shapes with holes in the centre, or how to build up inside support.

You will be working on your own project during this course with guidance  and support from your teacher. We will bisque fire your work after week 3 and in class 4 you will be able to glaze your own piece.

A maximum of 2 pieces is included in this course. (....match with firing guidelines)

This class is taught by Isabelle Olson (https://www.instagram.com/iz_olson/). Isabelle is an amazing ceramics artist and knows best how to create complex shapes. She is both skilled in handbuilding and on the wheel. She won’t ask the same standards from you, but she will be able to help you with all technical and artistic questions.

After this course, for those who feel confident and wish to continue by making and experimenting by themselves, you can sign up for a membership at Pansa. You might already be able to start with this during the course. We will guide you in these steps. Many of our former students became makers and now use the studio as full time members.

Please ensure you are able to attend as many of the scheduled course dates as possible before you sign up. The courses are usually full, so we can’t move people between them.

For dates, please subscribe to our newsletter and keep an eye on the webshop.
